About This Answer

The question is whether trying to see the truth of things and the impermanence of all things in daily life will help give rise to wisdom and deep concentration in formal practice.

Ajahn Dtun says that it does help. If, outside of formal practice, one keeps reflecting on things to see their impermanent nature, one is always letting things go, and less thought and emotion prevail in the mind. Then, when it is time to sit in meditation, the mind can be made peaceful more easily.
