If enlightenment is said to be reached only in the human realm, wouldn't a human rebirth be preferable to a pleasant celestial one? Most people understand it this way, the interpreter conveys from Ajahn Dtun, but there are special cases of devas or celestial beings attaining full enlightenment in their own realm.
The great majority, however, reach the highest level of enlightenment here in the human realm. That is why the human realm is considered truly excellent: it is where beings can develop the spiritual perfections.
